Serving as a technical judge at the Western Region Research and Innovation Consortium (WRRIC) was a deep dive into the future of regional innovation. My role involved critically evaluating diverse research projects across multiple technical domains, ranging from agricultural tech to software-driven community solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Technical Assessment: Analyzing the feasibility, scalability, and engineering integrity of innovative prototypes and research papers. - Mentorship & Feedback: Providing actionable insights to researchers and student innovators to help bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world commercialization. - Collaborative Evaluation: Working alongside industry experts to identify high-impact solutions that address local challenges with global standards. This experience highlighted the immense potential of the Western region's tech ecosystem and reinforced the importance of rigorous technical standards in fostering sustainable innovation.
